The Bronx

A victim who had just gotten off a train in the Bronx at around 8:30 p.m. was struck by a monster that randomly stabbed her.

After that horrific subway incident on Thursday, they were rushed to a hospital and died around 6 a.m. Friday, NYPD announced on Twitter.

The victim, whose name is being withheld until his family is notified, is shown on CCTV released by authorities being stabbed multiple times in the back and chest.

The killer is shown dressed all in black as he grapples on the northbound platform while the train was still at the station during the “unprovoked” attack. He then fled.

“Definitely a horrifying incident,” NYPD transit chief Jason Wilcox said during Friday’s crime statistics press briefing.

“Obviously, a very, very intensive investigation is underway.”

As of Friday morning, no arrests had been made in connection with the murder.

Mayor Eric Adams said it was a “bizarre scenario” when asked about the incident.

“Nothing is worse than a random attack,” Adams said in a separate news conference.

“It just really undermines your sense of security. We are investigating closely what happened.”

On the same day, a couple were standing together on a platform when a man approached the 29-year-old and his wife, 40, pointing a knife, police said.

The man who displayed the knife escaped after threatening them and the couple were not injured, but authorities said the husband stopped officers at the station to get their attention.

Consequently, John Bethelmie, 58, of the Bronx, was arrested and charged with threats.

Police said they are also investigating whether he was linked to the stabbing.

Brooklyn

About three hours before the stabbing incident, a 45-year-old man was slashed at 5:15 p.m. at a train station in East New York, Brooklyn. NYPD Crime Stoppers announced.

Footage released Friday morning shows the suspect, wearing a red hoodie, getting off a black and yellow scooter and starting to run.

Authorities said the suspect followed his victim into the train station and cut the right side of his face with an unknown object as he tried to go through a turnstile before fleeing.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where he was stitched up and discharged. The suspect who sliced him is reportedly still at large.

The victim claimed he didn’t know his assailant but had himself made a “tremendous number of arrests” and was “extremely well known to the department,” the New York Post reported.

Harlem

A 59-year-old man was reportedly stabbed at random in Harlem early this afternoon, the publication said.

Wilcox said the victim was walking up the stairs to get to the southbound train platform after missing his stop when someone patted him on the shoulder blocking his path.

“That leads to an argument, and that leads to a physical altercation where the victim gets stabbed and has a stab wound in the shoulder area,” Wilcox said.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, authorities said.

Manhattan

First responders saw a number of sick passengers vomit profusely and cough after an unknown substance, later identified as pepper spray, was released during a fight on the subway on Friday.

The horrifying incident happened just after 10 a.m. at the Union Square subway station in Manhattan.

Police say one passenger pepper sprayed another, prompting people to try to flee the station.

“Someone sprayed something in the air and people started throwing up left and right, a source said The town.

Police are looking for a suspect who is 5’7″ and in his 20s or 30s.

After the incident, service to and from Union Square was temporarily suspended.

At Friday’s news conference, authorities said they had identified four of the women caught on video last week assaulting two passengers who were standing in a subway car in Times Square.

The women attacked the straphangers while, oddly enough, wearing green full body jumpsuits.

NYPD detective chief James Essig said Emily Soto, Mairam Cisse Issouf, Ciante Alston and Dariana Peguero were allegedly involved in the access reef.

At least five other people allegedly involved in the attack remain at large and have yet to be identified.

“This incident originally stemmed from an apparent dent on the platform and spilled over into the subway car,” Essig said.

He added that it happened while the two 19-year-old victims were waiting for a train around 2am

Video of the incident, shared on social media, shows the group of people in neon green nylon overalls beating two women in a subway car while bystanders were sitting or standing nearby.

One of the green-clad suspects says “I’m getting out” in the video as the situation escalates.

The video then shows an attacker kicking a victim into a subway seat. The victim falls to the ground and is slapped in the face by another suspect as soon as he gets up.

Meanwhile, you can see how the other victim is repeatedly punched in the face in the background.

A cell phone, various credit cards, a wallet and other personal items were stolen from the victims, police said.

Wilcox also said arrests in the transit system are up 50 percent this year compared to last year.

According to police crime statistics, there have been 1,721 reports of transit crime so far this year through October 2, 41 percent more than the 1,215 reports in the same period last year.
