Suburban Lions Club raises donations for hurricane-ravaged Kentucky


RIVERSIDE, Ill – As many celebrated this weekend, families in Mayfield, Kentucky and parts of southern Illinois continue their efforts to clean up and recover from Terrifying tornado broke out earlier this month.

Members of the District 1-A Lions Club spent Sunday collecting and filling a trailer that will go to Kentucky to help those affected by the tornado.

Gail Anton is the governor of the club.

“We are asking for the recipe. We are asking for toilet paper. We ask for blankets, socks, uncooked food, packaged food,” she said.

The lions are set up outside Riverside Foods in Riverside. Many people donated food and other necessities.

The trailer filled in on Sunday is one of two clubs that plan to drive down to the area on Monday. Suburban Lions Club raises donations for hurricane-ravaged Kentucky
