In the hit series of the ’70s and ’80s, Bodie and Doyle played the tough crime-fighting duo who would use any means necessary to catch the bad guys.
Martin Shaw’s character Ray Doyle drove the Capris, while Lewis Collins, who played William Bodie, also drove a hot Ford – an Escort RS2000.
But it was the Capris that were the four-wheel drive stars of the show, and the powerful 3.0-litre cars inspired a new generation of car enthusiasts.
The ‘Solar Gold’ model was slightly restored by the current owner in 2021 and the interior appears to still be in great condition with its original Recaro seats.
The original engine and transmission have also been fully overhauled, although the vehicle is thought to have only driven 43,222 miles.
Silverstone Auctions, which is handling the sale, said: “We are privileged to offer these fantastically presented cars on behalf of our seller from his 16 year ownership.
“Most people seem to agree that these two cars should always be garaged together and therefore should be offered as a pair and sold as one lot.”
The Classic Sale will take place on August 25th and 26th.
