Stranger Things Season 4 Vol 1 is in full swing! After a nearly three-year hiatus, the popular sci-fi series returned to Netflix on May 27, and many would have noticed that the cast these days looks a lot different than their baby-faced characters did in seasons 1-3. But that’s it Expect a time jump, right? TO THE RIGHT?

Well… You might be surprised to learn that the time warp wasn’t that long ago, and even though the cast of strange things has grown up, her characters on the show have been stilted.

According to the official synopsis for Stranger things season 4it’s only been “six months since Battle of Starcourt” in Season 3. How old would that make your characters?

The show’s leads were only 11 years old when they started filming scenes for the Netflix show, and we’ve watched them grow up alongside the series. But you will quiet probably shocked to learn how old they are supposed to be on the show.

Here’s how old the cast of stranger things are compared to the ages of the characters they play in the show’s fourth season.

How old are the characters in Stranger Things Season 4 Vol.1?

In an interview ahead of the latest season’s release, Millie Bobby Brown was shocked to learn how old her character Eleven is on the show. When asked by the interviewer what fans of the show can expect from their characters this season, Noah Schnapp began by explaining before being interrupted by Millie, who asks if Will is older than her.

This led to Millie confessing to Bobby Brown that she doesn’t know “how old Eleven is,” and while she initially believed the roles they play would roughly reflect how old they are in real life, she was Surprised to learn that her character is actually 14 years old compared to her 18 years in real life! How old is the rest of the cast compared to their characters?

• Fin Wolfhard is 19 in real life but plays 15-year-old Mike Wheeler on the show. He was thrown stranger things at the age of 13, according to his official bio page.
• Noah Schnaps who plays 15-year-old Will Byers is only 17 in real life, making him the youngest member of the lead role strange things squad.
• Caleb McLaughlin is 20 years old in real life! Given that the whole gang is around, Lucas Sinclair is also 15 on the show, which is a pretty big age gap in real life when you think about it.
• Gate Matarazzo who plays 15-year-old Dustin Henderson is 19 in real life! Although he seems to be the most similar to his character in real life, the age difference is still quite pronounced.
• Sadie Sink is also 20, but acc the tab, Her character Max is a bit older than her friends. Now in season four, Max is said to be 16 years old.
• Joe Keery His age probably gave us the biggest shock. While Steve Harrington is a recent graduate of Hawkins High, making him around 18 years old on the show, in real life Joe is actually 30 years old!
• Maya Hawke who portrays Robin Buckley is 23 years old in real life, and while her age wasn’t explicitly mentioned on the show, we’re guessing that she’s only a year younger than Steve, as she’s still in high school, which is what makes her special most likely 17 goes to 18.
• Natalia Dyer in Season 4 of Stranger Things, who portrays Nancy Wheeler, is said to be 18 years old, but in real life, the actress is almost a decade older than her screen character. In real life, Natalie is 27 years old.
• Charlie Heatons The character Jonathan Byers is 18 years old in the series and is awaiting news from collages, but in real life he is 10 years older than his character as he is 28 years old!
