Eagle-eyed fans spotted many clues to what’s to come.

As the rest of the Hawkins gang prepare for war, Max still mourns the passing of her stepbrother, Billy.

But is Billy really dead? Could he be Season 4’s new Big Bad?

In the trailer, Max (Sadie Elizabeth Sink) appears to be floating in front of Billy’s tombstone in a graveyard, reading a letter.

Fans took to Twitter to share their concerns for Max, as one said: “Literally what’s wrong with Max? Please don’t hurt her.”

Another wrote: “MAX FLOATS OMG WTF IS HAPPENING SEND HELP OMG.”

A third remarked, “The part where Max is lifted through the air is probably a nod to Stephen King’s It, just like Beverly was.”

Other clues the trailer teases include Joyce Byers receiving a mysterious package, Jim Hopper in a Russian prison, and Eleven being relocated to California.
