On Tuesday, the debate show interviewed Iowa Hawkeyes star Caitlin Clark.
Clark, 21, led Iowa to the Final Four, most recently delivering a 41-point triple-double against Louisville.
Clark’s interview was seen by Smith, who tweeted: “There, Caitlin.
“I’m watching my favorite wife’s player on @FirstTake right now.

“The @StephenCurry30 of the women’s BBall.
“You are simply sensational.
“Keep Shining!”
Smith’s tweet prompted many fans to advocate for the outspoken personality’s return.
A response to Smith’s tweet read, “The shows aren’t the same without you!”
Another asked: “Why aren’t you working?”
And a third commented: “Was hoping to see Stephen A. Smith today alright guys did an admirable job.”
Qerim was also absent on Friday as Christine Williamson has since stepped in.
Williamson has been with the ESPN network as a presenter and reporter since 2019.
