Steam has highest concurrent players ever during Thanksgiving weekend 2021

Over Thanksgiving weekend in 2021, Steam broke a new record by hitting an all-time high of 27,384,959 concurrent players using the game on its service.

SteamDB revealed that this new record for concurrent players occurs on Sunday, November 28, and the peak is just one of many times in 2021 that Steam has achieved this feat.

Another key factor that helped Steam reach this new all-time high is Its fall sale has begun, and it will be offering fans huge discounts on a lot of different games until December 1st.

Steam’s concurrent player record has been steadily increasing for some time, and its new 27 million milestone is 10 million higher than 17,155,417 in November 2019.

Steam’s impressive 2021 is clearly built on the games featured in its store, and they’ve also contributed to the platform’s success this year. Eg, Team Fortress 2 broke its own Steam concurrency record after 14 years in 2021, and Final Fantasy 14 does the same without releasing anything new. Of course, there are a lot of factors beyond just being on Steam that contribute to these achievements, but it’s welcome nonetheless.
