‘Star Wars: Ahsoka’ casts Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren

Disney Affiliates + Mandalorian focus on Ahsoka Tano by Rosario Dawson has found its Sabine Wren.

Society alum Natasha Liu Bordizzo is said to have participated Star Wars: Ahsoka as Mandalorian warrior Sabine Wren, according to our sister site Deadline. (Nether Disney+ and Lucasfilm are confirming the news.) Wren is being introduced for the first time in the animated series. Star Wars: Rebelsand voiced by Tiya Sircar aka Good placeby Vicky.

In Star Wars Legend has it that the fan-favorite is described as a skilled fighter with expert knowledge of weapons and explosives handling. She dropped out of the Imperial Academy when she realized she was helping the Empire oppress its people, later working as a bounty hunter alongside Ketsu Onyo. She is also a member of the Ghost Crew and her impressive graffiti inspired the emblem of the Rebel Alliance.

Ahsoka, set five years later Return of the Jedi, which is supposed to see Hayden Christensen reprise the role of Darth Vader – presumably in a flashback to the Jedi Master working with his Padawan, Ahsoka. (Ashley Eckstein previously voiced Ahsoka in Clone War and Dawson appear in live-action in Season 2 of Mandalorian.)

Dave Filoni (Star Wars: Rebels, Star Wars: Clone Wars, Mandalorian) is scripted and Jon Favreau is executive producing. According to Deadline, production is aiming for a March 2022 start date.
