TRAGIC Star Hobson’s aunt has branded her killers as “monsters” who have destroyed their lives – and has vowed to “never forgive” their mother and partner.
Evil Frankie Smith, 20, was jailed for eight years in December after a jury at Bradford Crown Court convicted her of causing or allowing her own child’s death.
She stood still when her violent partner and self-proclaimed No1 Psycho, Savannah Brockhill, 28, murdered the defenseless 16-month-old star.
Her family was appalled by the lenient sentence that would see her out from prison after serving just four years.
Smith’s sister, Alicia Szepler, has now sworn that she will never forgive her and her evil partner for killing the defenseless good.
She said: “When she first came home as a child, she lived at her mother’s house with all of us.
“We are like one big happy family. She has big blue eyes and black hair. She loves music, my grandfather would play the guitar.
“She loves music and dancing. We often go to the park, she has a very bright smile and her big eyes.
“I don’t even have a word, in our family we don’t say her name, and we call her a monster.
“How can someone do that to a child. She took Star and Frankie and she took my stepbrother Andrew away from us, she destroyed the whole family.
“It completely ruined our family. I’m glad she got the sentence she got because she deserved it. ”
Star suffered horrific injuries, including broken bones, cracked ribs, 12cm skull fractures and numerous bruises all over her face and body.
The impotent star was so battered that by the end of September 2020, she was unable to stand let alone walk.
She was punched, slapped, kicked, pinched and strangled in the months leading up to her death by cruel amateur boxer Brockhill.
Smith turned a blind eye as she repeatedly used the tot as a punching bag.
Speaking of her sister, Alicia said: “I feel different every day, there are days when I miss her, but when I look at her it’s the person I miss, she’s not that person anymore.
“I think about when we were young and all the memories we had together, it would never be the same again.
“I would love her privately, but I can’t tell her back, I can’t do that. Every time I think about Star.
“I yelled at Frankie that you don’t have to be with that girl. I feel angry because if it were me and it was my baby, I would walk away and get out of that situation no matter what.
“So I cannot condone that. The first day of the trial was the worst.
“We didn’t know they had all that evidence. That CCTV that… I can’t even go to court, I’m reading it at home.
“My stomach rumbles, I’m screaming in the garden. She must have been very scared. This is terrible.
“I met her in August, and I didn’t know she had any of those injuries. If I did, I would have run away with her.
“I wouldn’t care what the consequences were. We will all have, me nan and grandpa. “
The Attorney General appealed Smith’s conviction and sent it to the Court of Appeals for review.
The maximum prison sentence for causing or allowing the death of a child is 10 years.
Brockhill’s minimum sentence of life and 25 years in prison will not be appealed.
Total, social services missed five important opportunities to save Star from her tormentors.
A serious case review of her murder and the failures that led to it has been conducted.
