Spurs boss Conte calls Kane in the dressing room to congratulate him on breaking Greaves’ record after gallbladder surgery
ANTONIO CONTE spoke directly to Harry Kane on the phone after his Tottenham star’s record-breaking match-winner against Manchester City.
The forward scored the only goal of the game as Spurs beat the Cityzens in north London.
That was his 267th goal for the club and put him ahead of Jimmy Greaves as the all-time top scorer.
And once in the dressing room, the absent Conte was right on his Superstar’s blower.
And while it’s difficult to hear much of the conversation, Conte can be clearly heard saying, “You make me proud.”
The Italian gaffer also posted a photo to his Instagram account showing Kane being bullied by his teammates after the game.
Conte captioned it: “Always with you, even from afar. Proud of the whole team.”
Spurs managed to topple the reigning champions without their manager after his recent surgery as he is still recovering in Turin.
Conte, 53, was taken to hospital on Wednesday to undergo surgery after suffering severe abdominal pain.
Tottenham then confirmed his manager had been diagnosed with cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gallbladder.

Conte’s assistant Cristian Stellini managed the team in his absence.
The magic moment came with Spurs’ first attack, as midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg intercepted a loose pass just outside the box for City.
He attracted a couple of defenders before going straight to Kane, and the hotshot expertly fired past Ederson into the bottom corner.
Kane said afterwards: “It’s hard to put into words and I’m so glad it came to a win.
“We worked so hard to stay clean. It was so special to do it in front of the fans.
“It’s been talked about so much in the past few weeks and to do it in such a big game is even more special.
“It is a good feeling. When I started playing regularly it wasn’t even my imagination to score 200 goals in the Premier League and I’ve still got a few years left so hopefully there’s more to come.
“[Jimmy Greaves] is an absolute hero, one of the best forwards to play the game, so it’s special to be a part of this conversation. And overtaking him is a huge moment for me.”
And to make the day even sweeter, it was Kane’s 200th Premier League goal too.
The 29-year-old England captain is just the third player to reach a double century since the top flight was restructured in 1992.
Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney is at 208 while Alan Shearer is the leader at 260.
