Spotify takes Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s podcast ‘into its own hands’ after the pair did NOT produce content for a YEAR

SPOTIFY is working on Harry and Meghan’s £18 million podcast project by hiring a range of in-house producers to ultimately help deliver the content.

The streaming giant has been waiting for more than a year for the fugitive royals to produce the material as part of their money-hungry deal.

Spotify says it’s recruiting for a “new original show with Archewell featuring famous women’s voices”

Spotify said it was expecting a “full-scale” launch of its shows in 2021 – but nothing came of it.

Now bosses at the streaming platform are stepping in to help Harry and Meghan deliver.

They are recruiting new internal staff to work with Harry and Meghan’s Archewell Audio on a show featuring “the voices of senior women”.

The jobs are being offered to candidates on a six-month short-term contract based in Los Angeles.

An ad for a senior producer role at Gimlet Projects, Spotify’s own production arm, reads: “We’re currently assembling a performance team that will build and launch a new original show with Archewell featuring Archewell. voices of famous women.

“The ideal candidate has experience working with renowned talent and is interested in the intersection of social activism and pop culture.”

Harry and Meghan’s only podcast attempt to date was a 35-minute ‘vacation special’ in December 2020, which featured celebrity friends like Elton John and James Corden.

Fans have questioned when the so-called “full-blown premiere” of their episodes will arrive.

A source close to the project said: “Spotify has been waiting for some content from Harry and Meghan for a long time and now it looks like they’ve finally resolved their own issues.

“Hiring an in-house talent pool from Spotify’s side will ensure that they end up squeezing something out as they bid to honor their contract.”

Harry and Meghan’s lack of content comes despite the duo hiring popular podcast producer Rebecca Sanaes as their ‘head of sound’ at Archewell last year.

The Sun reported in November that Harry and Meghan are working to secure £18m deal after failing to assemble any content.

With just a single show, the streaming platform has so far paid the couple £500,000 per minute.

Meanwhile, Harry has appeared on various other podcasts including Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert in May, where he says his life is like Jim Carrey’s The Truman Show.

The two also found time to sit down for Oprah’s sensational interview last March – while the Duchess later played a prank on the Ellen DeGeneres show.

Spotify and Archewell have been approached for comment.
