A picture shows the moment a SpaceX rocket was launched into orbit on a satellite mission while the golden moon was in the sky at the same time.

The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off Saturday at 19:05 EDT (00:05 BST) on its 14th record-breaking mission from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida.

The rocket’s first stage returned to Earth, landing on SpaceX’s drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas about 8.5 minutes after launch.

The ship was in the Atlantic Ocean, a few hundred miles off the Florida coast, reports Space.com.

According to the US Naval Observatory’s Division of Astronomical Applications, the launch happened to coincide with the time that October’s first full moon would reach its maximum illumination.

Previously, it helped launch the GPS III-3 and Turksat 5A satellites, the Transporter-2 rideshare and 10 Starlink missions.

As the moon begins to sink on the horizon on Sunday, it appears larger and brighter than usual – a so-called “moon illusion”.

The Hunter’s Moon is the first full moon since the Harvest Moon – both signifying the beginning of the new season.

According to The Farmer’s Almanac, it is called Hunter’s Moon as it represents a time when late autumn days were spent preparing food and fuel for the cold winter.

It’s a time when farmers traditionally prepared for the coming cold days by using the moonlight to hunt animals for the winter.

The Almanac states: “The animals are beginning to fatten up before winter, and as the farmers had recently cleared their fields under the autumn moon, hunters could easily see the deer and other animals that had come out through the remaining refuse, to root. “

The harvest moon, which usually occurs in September, signifies the beginning of autumn.

It means it’s the peak of harvest time and farmers can use the moonlight to work late into the night.

This moon should not be confused with a “super moon,” which refers to a full moon that appears larger than it appears when the moon is closer to Earth.

Revelers can see the full moon for several nights after Saturday’s yellow-orange Chaser Moon shone in the sky.

The next full moon is the beaver moon, which is expected to appear on November 8th.

And the last full moon of the year is called the cold moon and falls on December 7th this year.
