Spider-Man’s future in doubt after cryptic comments from Sony Pictures CEO

In conversation with Variety (via Twitter) on the red carpet of the “Spider-Man: No Way Home” premiere, Sony Pictures President and CEO Tom Rothman has been following Pascal’s comments since a few weeks ago, and finally, he has seemed a little less secure. “I will confirm that my dear sister-in-law, Amy, is a very optimist,” said Rothman. “That’s what I’m going to confirm. In fact, nothing is set up. Nothing has been determined yet. But otherwise, anything could still happen.”
While Rothman doesn’t exactly sing from the same soundtrack as Pascal, it doesn’t completely dampen hopes for our hero getting back into action. As always, Marvel movies (co-produced by Sony or not) end with a twist that leaves us speculating. All we can do right now is wait and see if the ending of “No Way Home” gives us a clue.
You can see for yourself (without prompting) when “Spider-Man: No Way Home” hits theaters on December 17.
