Southlake Mall locked as police investigate shooting

HOBART, Ind. – Southlake Mall in Northwest Indiana is currently locked down as officers investigate a shooting.

Within the previous hour, authorities responded to the mall, located outside 30 US in Hobart.

Mall security told WGN News that a shooting had occurred. Police responded to an “active situation.”

At 12:35, police said there was not “a threat present.” It is not clear if anyone was injured at this time.

Southlake Mall is the largest mall in Northwest Indiana.
