The report goes on to advise that if cybercriminals continue to “gain financial profits”, cyberattacks and attacks will become more widespread.

Lindy Cameron, chief executive of the UK’s National Cyber ​​Security Center (NCSC), warned that ransomware is “a growing global threat with potentially devastating consequences”.

“We live at a time when every government, every business, everyone must focus on the threat of ransomware and take action to reduce the risk of falling victim,” added CISA Director Jen Easterly. .
