Some people are trapped after a pickup truck capsized on I-44 near Eureka

Roads EUREKA, Mo. – Missouri was very slippery after rain turned to snow this morning and temperatures hovered around freezing. The Eureka Fire District reported that there was an accident about 6:30 a.m. on I-44 West this morning.
First responders are at the scene of an overturned tractor-trailer in the foothills of Antire. They said several people were trapped in the accident. Crews are working to free the victims.
MoDOT reported that the collision closed two lanes of the interstate. They expect it to be cleaned up around 8am.
The road is very slippery and yes several other accidents reported in the area. MoDOT currently has a road handling team. But, there was not much they could do before the rain moved out of the area.
