Invented by legendary songwriter Robbie Williams in 2006, a combination of former professional footballers and celebrities make up an England team as well as a rest of the World XI team.

The lineups for this edition’s Soccer Aid have already been announced and include some familiar faces such as Arsene Wenger, Liam Payne and the world’s fastest man Usain Bolt.

  • Luther part of the leadership clique

Idris Elba will join Arsene Wenger and Robbie Keane in coaching the rest-of-the-world squad. With the summer sun scorching, I’m not sure he’ll wear his recognizable wool trench coat.

It makes one hell of a trio on the sidelines, gimmicks the thought of a halftime tongue whipped by these three.

The visitors have some real world-class talent on their team tonight, some of whom would go on to play in football teams across Europe.

  • Tonight’s team news:

Both sides showcase a mix of ex-football talent and the who’s who of the showbiz world.

A real opportunity for those embarking on the path of a career as a schlager musician, actor and athlete rather than their preferred path as a League 2 footballer.

  • Welcome to Soccer Aid 2022

Robbie Williams’ original idea to raise money for Unicef, Soccer Aid has grown into a huge annual event instead of being the biannual event it was originally intended to be.

An England XI will take on a rest of the world XI at West Ham Utd’s London Stadium, with the England side being captained by Harry Redknapp and David Seaman.

The Rest of the World XI is managed by a partnership of Arsene Wenger and Robbie Keane.

Ex-Arsenal manager Wenger knows quite a bit about managing teams in London having dominated The Gunners between 1996 and 2018.

Both sides will have a mix of ex-footballers and celebrities looking to put on a show for the crowd to raise more money for Unicef.

This is the 11th year the charity football game has been held and this year every donation, up to a maximum of £4 million, will be matched by The Power of Nutrition.

This aims to help support the health and nutrition of children around the world and offers donors a chance to make a double difference in people’s lives. Soccer Aid LIVE: Stream FREE TV Channel & Team News for England vs World XI UNICEF Charity Game – Updates
