Snow Squalls and the Dust Storm – CBS Denver

DENVER (CBS4) – Our newest storm system moving across the state is powerful enough to generate gusts of 50-80 mph. These winds create powerful snowstorms and dust storms across the state. Travel troubles began early and continued in many areas of Colorado.

Snow warnings have been issued from southern Wyoming down to northern Colorado. This is one such storm across the Steamboat Springs area.

Over the eastern plains, strong winds of at least 60 mph produced dust storms and terrible visibility along eastern freeways on Sunday afternoon.

More snow and light winds in the mountains are expected on Monday but not as intense as Sunday’s downpours.

Snowfall from Sunday night to Monday night will increase by about 2 to 5 inches with strong winds.

Another storm system is expected to bring more mountain snow Tuesday along with a chance of some overnight snow in the Denver metro area Monday night.
