SKOKIE, Ill. – The Skokie community got together to celebrate the first night of Hanukkah.

The Skokie Valley Synagogue held celebrations indoors and outdoors. They went all out for the festival of lights.

In addition to the customary lighting of Menorah candles, fire jugglers dazzled the crowd.

Organizers wanted to make sure the bright lights of Hanukkah were extra bright on Sunday night.

They cite an old Jewish teaching, that ‘a little light can drive out much darkness, especially in times of trial.’

Congratulations Hanukkah from WGN!
