Regina Michalski, 96, died in March 2021 and was reportedly placed in the new freezer by her daughter Eva Bratcher about a week later.

The discovery was made on Wednesday afternoon when police were called to a social check by Bratcher’s daughter Sabrina Watson.
Watson told police her “intuition” told her something was wrong.
“I just said I’ll call [the police] and just have them do a social check,” Watson told FOX32.
“What could go wrong? Apparently everything.

“My heart is broken,” she added.
“I miss her a lot.”
According to FOX32, Michalski’s body was found in the freezer, which was in a garage surrounded by trash.
Cook County Assistant Attorney Michael Pekara said, “She admitted that after her mother died, she bought the freezer about a week later and put her mother in the freezer.”
An official cause of death was not announced.
An autopsy is pending.
Bratcher, who was reportedly the landlord of the building where the body was found, had lived on the first floor with her mother for years.
According to WGN9, she was accused of concealing a death and possessing a fake ID.
Neighbors claim they haven’t seen Michalski in years, the outlet reports.
“The last time we saw her was about three or four years ago,” Angeline Yanez, who lives on the top floor of the building, told WGN9.
Another resident said Bratcher often gave different answers when asked about her mother.
“She was in the kindergarten where the old people live,” Flores said.
“She was always like, ‘Oh, she’s asleep right now, she’s asleep,’ and we never knew what was going on.”
