Silksong may launch this year, according to GOG

Things have been quiet for a while, but there may be an announcement soon.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is likely to launch soon, according to the mobile GOG page. While the desktop page still shows the release date as “TBA” (as it is on Steam), accessing it via mobile devices shows it as an unspecified date in 2022, indicating that the team is working on it. Prepare for an announcement.
This information can be found if you scroll down to “product details”, dated 2022 (thanks, r / GamingLeaksAndRumours). Other games have launch dates in this installment, so maybe this really means the long-awaited sequel is upon us shortly.
There’s always the possibility that this is a placeholder and not an indication of an impending release, but it should follow with previous reports. A September leak also has a 2022 release date, so we have two stories this year.
After skipping E3 last year, it’s likely that the pandemic has slowed development as it has for many other titles. It was announced back in 2019, so fans have to be patient to stay tuned for the original 2017 Metroidvania.
Whenever it launches, it will be available on PC and Nintendo Switch. The first Hollow Knight game is playable on both platforms, as well as PS4 and Xbox One. It is unknown whether the final sequel will be ported to other platforms like the first one.
