The upcoming 12-episode seventh season of Billions will be its last, reported The Hollywood Reporter.

The final season will premiere on streaming platforms in August.

It’s no big surprise that the show ends in 2023.

Billions star Dan Soder, 39, accidentally leaked in a radio interview in March that the show would end after this season.

“Billions” may be gone soon, but the series’ legacy will live on through spin-offs.

According to the news outlet, two of the various spin-offs currently in the works are tentatively titled “Millions and Trillions.”

Showtime wants to franchise some of its successful, long-running shows, and Billions is at the top of that list.

“Billions deftly explored power, money and greed in a way that not only made it a smash hit, but also defined its own genre thanks to the creative intelligence of Brian and David,” said Chris McCarthy, CEO of Showtime, to THR.

“This final season is packed with incredible, complex dialogue and character dynamics that fans have come to love, and we’re excited to be working with them to grow this hit series into a global franchise.”

HATE IT OR LOVE IT

On social media, fans discussed the Billion news in a thread on Twitter.

One fan tweeted: “Well it’s about time! I wondered when they would finally break up. Not that I don’t love this show and didn’t enjoy the ride, but what will its seventh season be now? It’s time to release it. It’s coming to an end. I can’t wait for the end to begin. #Billions cc:@Showtime.”

Another countered: “I remember when I watched the FIRST season trailer I knew it was going to be awesome! Everything ends eventually…”

A second fan captioned: “Can’t wait!”

AX IS BACK

Most fans admitted they only tuned in to the new season of Billions because Damian Lewis was set to reprise his role as Bobby Axelrod.

One fan tweeted: “Not sure I’ll be watching this. The last season was awful and it was really difficult to watch.”

“Of course they’re going to bring Ax back for the final season, I don’t think anyone else would be watching.”

A second fan remarked: “Nice to see Damian Lewis back at it, hope it works out.”

A third fan captioned: “#Axe is back so I guess I’ll be back for the final season.”
