NORTH MIAMI-DADE (CBSMiami) – A shooting on a Florida turn that left two people injured is called a road rage incident.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the incident occurred shortly before 1 p.m. on the southbound lanes of the Turnpike in the Golden Glades Interchange area in Northwest Miami-Dade.
FHP investigators say a blue Honda Civic and a gray Chevy sedan were involved in some sort of altercation that led to the outburst.
Someone in the Chevy opened fire, hitting the Honda’s port side.
The male Honda driver and the female passenger were both hit by bullets.
After the incident, the victim drove to the MDPD Northside station. Both victims were transported to Ryder Trauma Center with non-life threatening injuries.
There have been no arrests yet.
Tuesday’s shooting is part of a disturbing trend we’ve seen on the roads of South Florida.
In November, there have been six different street outrage shootings and more than a dozen since June. The last time happened on Saturday in Miami Gardens when the driver of a Hyundai SUV was shot by another vehicle’s passenger in the southbound lane, just north of NW 199.
