Shoppers were stunned to find crack pipes for sale behind a counter in a post office

CRACK pipes were found for sale behind a counter in a post office.
The glass items were discovered behind a counter at a store in central London.
The packaging makes it clear that the pipes are “for tobacco use only”.
But shape and design are often associated with the use of illegal substances.
The pipes were sold alongside e-cigarettes in Farringdon.
Stunned buyer Frank Bolt said: “I went to the post office just for some stamps and was confronted with a crack pipe. I couldn’t believe my eyes.”
“When I asked the staff what they were doing, they shrugged and looked a little embarrassed.
“Drug addicts should be happy to have the whistles to hand next to the passport applications.
“I know the Post boasts about serving their local community, but that’s ridiculous.”
A post office spokesman said: “A postmaster often has a retail division in addition to his post office and decides what to sell.”
“It is not illegal to sell, buy or possess unused glass pipes.
“They can be bought in stores and online, including Amazon. The packaging clearly states that they are for tobacco use only.”
But later a post spokesman added, “The postmaster has also agreed to remove the inventory of glass pipes.”
