Sergeant Andy Williams of the Phoenix Police said police believe an argument sparked the shooting, KALB reported.

A teenager was among those shot dead, but he is believed to survive, CBS5 reported.

Police said the victims were between the ages of 17 and 24.

According to reports, players were inside and outside a building where a gathering was taking place when gunshots were heard.

It is not known how many shooters were involved in the incident, but police believe a handgun was used.

Police have not arrested any suspects while the investigation continues.

The motive for the shooting also remains unknown.

Officers rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area where the shooting took place with police tape.

The shooting comes amid a spate of gun violence that has swept America.

One person was killed at a party Friday night in Chester, Virginia.

A total of six people were shot, Lt. Dave Sumner to The Sun.

Chesterfield County Police said officers were dispatched after receiving reports of youths rampaging.

At least 13 people died and 70 were injured in more than a dozen Memorial Day mass shootings.

SHOT CHAOS

Researchers at the Gun Violence Archives define a mass shooting as an incident in which at least four victims are shot dead.

It does not include a shooter who may have been killed or injured during the event.

Escaped convict Gonzalo Lopez is accused of butchering a family of five at their vacation home in Centerville, Texas.

Grandpa Mark Collins was among those found dead.

His grandsons Waylon Collins, 18, Carson, 16, Hudson, 11, and their 11-year-old cousin, Bryson, were also killed.

David Crain, a longtime family friend, said the loss “will be irreparable”.

Crain added that Hudson was christened at the family pool three days before the 11-year-old was shot in cold blood.

And 19 children and two teachers were butchered by lone gunman Salvador Ramos on May 24 at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
