Vega’s body was found in the back of a vehicle just after 10:30 p.m. near 71st Avenue and 20th Street.

Police arrested Marcos Vallejos on suspicion of first-degree murder and sexual assault and sent him to the Weld County Jail.

It comes after officers were called to Noco Nurtrition on 59th Avenue just before 8 p.m. following reports of suspicious activity at the store.

When they arrived, they found the store appeared to have been broken into and Vega, who was supposed to close the store, was missing, according to Greeley Police.

Officers found the store in disarray and what appeared to be a large amount of blood on the floor. Vegas Auto was also missing.

Although police did not identify the victim, Vegas’ family confirmed their daughter was involved in the fatal incident, according to CBS.

A memorial service was held in front of Noco Nutrition on Saturday while investigators continued cleaning the store.

“I wish we could go back and change it, but we can’t. I know I didn’t know her, but I just wanted to come and leave some flowers and maybe a little poem,” said Leandra Walker, who was present at The Memorial.

“Even if I didn’t know her, it’s important to us. We will not forget them. And she will be remembered and hopefully it will help her family a little bit.”

Tawnya Bowie, who runs a business alongside Noco Nutition, said: “I have so much anger because I’m a woman. I’m a mother and a daughter and a niece, just like, you know, she’s a niece, she’s a daughter.

“She will never have children. She will never marry. And that’s not fair. He took that from her. And that’s not right.”

Bowie said her salon wants to raise funds to help Vega’s family during this difficult time.
