NEW video shows a blazing argument after Quinton Simon’s grandmother stormed into his babysitter’s home and accused her of taking the baby absence Small child.
Angry Billie Jo Howell can also be heard screaming “my baby is not dead” after childminder Diana McCarta spoke about creating a memorial.
The shocking footage was captured by Diana’s daughter and shared with local news station WSAV.
Billie Jo – who reportedly has custody of Quinton, 20 months – and his babysitter Diana have accused each other of lying amid the raging bankruptcy.
At one point Diana dares the grandma: “Hit me, hit me” – and Bille Jo replies: “Do you think I would do that?”
She then yells at Diana, “Got Quinton? You’re the only one who can go into my house and take him away.”
The footage emerged after Diana revealed she received a “strange” text hours before little Quinton went missing in Savannah, Georgia last Wednesday.
She said Quinton’s mother, Leilani Simon, informed her she was not needed to look after the toddler and his brother.
Diana told WSAV: “I got a text at 5.29am saying they wouldn’t be here, (I) wouldn’t babysit them.
“Which was kind of weird because I have her even when she’s not working.”
She added: “And then at 9am I get a text saying if I’ve seen Quinton.
“I’ll go straight to your house. I try to help them search, they didn’t want that. So I just waited like everyone else.
“My heart is broken. I’m not his mother. I’m not his family. But I love him very much and I just don’t know what could happen.”
According to police, Quinton was last seen by Leilani’s partner Daniel Youngkin at 6am, half an hour after Diana said she received the first text.
Leilani, 22, reported him missing hours later, allegedly claiming that Quinton’s birth father took him with him.
But the police said that wasn’t true.
Forty FBI agents joined local officials in a massive drone and helicopter search operation fearing Quinton may have been kidnapped.
Leilani’s mother, Billie Jo, has since admitted she’s not sure she can trust her.
The grandma told WJCL: “She hasn’t always done the right thing. Sometimes she’s really great at it, sometimes not.
“I don’t know what to think now.
“I don’t know if I can trust her or not.”
Billie Jo had tried to evict Leilani and her boyfriend, court records show, but they were still living with her last week.
The search entered its eighth day today.
Officers searched the family home, a pond, drains and woods.
Chatham County Chief Jeffrey Hadley said Monday: “Everybody’s being looked at, everybody’s being questioned.
“Everyone who has been in contact with Quinton in the recent wake of his disappearance is being investigated, interviewed and that’s a tremendous amount of work.”
The police chief said last week no foul play had been suspected, but on Monday he added it could become a criminal case.
He said: “We haven’t confirmed anything so we can’t say anything absolute.
“But it’s fair to say that in our efforts — and working with the FBI and them, who provide us with a wealth of resources — we also look at the criminal investigation aspect.”
