Wesley Brownlee, 43, was arrested Saturday after police linked him to the deaths of several shooting victims.
Three days later, prosecutors in San Joaquin County, California charged Brownlee, dubbed the “Stockton serial killer,” with triple murder and other felonies.
These three charges relate to the deaths of Jonathan Rodriguez (21), Juan Carlos Carranza-Cruz (52) and Lawrence Lopez (54).
District Attorney Tori Verber Salazar said she “can confirm with confidence that the same weapon was used in at least three of the murders.”

The DA’s office confirmed to The US Sun that the gun Salazar was referring to was the one police found on Wesley when they arrested him.
Police finally found Brownlee on Saturday wearing dark clothing with a mask around his neck and carrying a handgun.
“He was on a mission to kill,” officials said.
“He was hunting. He was pulled over by our own team at around 2am this morning.”
SHOOTING RAIN
Police believe Brownlee fatally shot a total of five people over a 14-week period.
The shootings took place from July 8 to September 27, with each shooting occurring at night.
Most of the victims were Latinos, homeless people living in remote camps north of Stockton, and all of the victims were men.
Police also believe Brownlee was responsible for two other shootings in the past year — one in Oakland that killed a 40-year-old Hispanic man and one in Stockton that injured a 46-year-old black woman.
Bronwlee was also charged with one count of possession of firearms and one count of possession of ammunition, according to prosecutors, but he has yet to be charged in the other shootings.
DA Salazar said her office could only bring charges based on the evidence available.

“We’ve only been doing this for four days, so you have to understand that there will be hundreds and hundreds of reports, in this case maybe even thousands, before we have a full picture,” she said.
“Fees will change over time.”
