Shocking details as two children, 4 and 7, are found dead after being fed poisoned yogurt by their father

A wicked father has been jailed for 60 years after being found guilty of killing his children by feeding them poisoned yogurt because their mother met someone new.

A criminal court in the Bolivian city of La Paz heard how Javier Hernández Rojano, 37, had told his former partner he wanted to take the children, aged seven and four, to buy new shoes.

Instead, Rojano brought his children back to the house he lived in and poisoned his children’s yogurt with liquid insecticide before feeding it to them.

The father even ate the poisonous mixture himself before suffering from severe stomach cramps.

Critically ill, he made his way to the city’s police station, where he confessed to killing his children and received first aid.

Rojano spent several weeks in intensive care recovering, during which time he apologized to family members for the murder of his children.

The father admitted to police that he decided to kill his children because his ex-wife met someone new, investigators said.

“The father administered insecticide to the victims after a fit of jealousy because his former partner and mother of the minors was in a relationship with someone else,” police said.

The case sparked a wave of protests in the city, with residents demanding justice for the children who died.

The protests were led by teachers at the Technical Agricultural Education Institute, where the children attended elementary school.
