Shock update on Debbie Collier’s death as video shows mum buying a tarp and torch hours before body is found naked and burned

SHOCKING video showed Debbie Collier buying a tarp and torches just hours before her naked body was found burned.
The 59-year-old was spotted at a Family Dollar store near the horrific crime scene, police said.

Surveillance footage showed Collier purchasing a red shopping bag, tarp and lighter similar to those found near her 9/11 remains.
Police went to the store and took copies of video taken on September 10, the day Collier’s husband and daughter reported them missing.
“Investigators have received footage showing the victim, Deborrah Collier, entering the store at 2:55 p.m. on September 10 and remaining there until 3:09 p.m.,” the Habersham County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
“In the video, the victim appears to be calm and not suspecting anything. All video footage obtained from the store and surrounding businesses shows the victim was alone in the van at the time of visiting the store.”
Police said the video helped narrow Collier’s time of death from 3:09 p.m. on September 10 to the discovery of her body at 12:44 p.m. the next day.
Collier’s daughter, Amanda Bearden, 36, told police she received $2,385 through a Venmo payment from her mother with the powerful message, “They will not let me go.”
Concerned, Bearden and her stepfather, Steve Collier, filed a missing persons report with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department.
While Collier’s message to her daughter was concerning, investigators last week publicly ruled out kidnapping and suicide.
“I WILL HURT YOU”
Now it’s been revealed that, according to the New York Post, Bearden has an allegedly violent boyfriend who once threatened to “hurt” her entire family.
“If you or your family ever come near me again, I will hurt them,” former amateur MMA fighter Andrew Giegerich reportedly shared in a handwritten note.
According to police documents, in May 2021, Bearden claimed that her boyfriend broke into her home, yelled at her and assaulted her.
When the police arrived, they found bruises on her body.
Giegerich was arrested and ordered to stay away from Bearden, who was also arrested and simultaneously charged with a false police report, saying Giegerich broke into the house they lived in together, which belonged to Debbie’s husband Steve.
Giegerich pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges in January but was arrested last month for violating probation.
Now he said he and Amanda had their phones confiscated by police but didn’t comment on the note.
“They interrogated us all. The people who are closest [Debbie] are currently considered suspects,” Giegerich told the Post.
Meanwhile, Collier’s family mourns her loss.
Her son Jeffrey Bearden said his family is struggling to come to terms with their loss but is “incredibly distressed” by the gruesome details surrounding his mother’s death.
“I will never be able to fully articulate the loss of my mother and what she meant to me,” wrote James Bearden. “She has been my longest running source of love, support and encouragement.”
“I have been incredibly hurt and disturbed by some of the reports and information that have been exchanged regarding the investigation into my mother’s death,” he added.

Bearden has now requested privacy and attention to his mother’s ‘tragic’ death so ‘focus on helping the police investigation’.
He said he appreciated his mother’s “kindness, empathy and understanding throughout her life and went through life finding the beauty and grace in everything she saw and experienced around her.”
