According to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, a woman requested a wellness check after a week without hearing from her sister and brother-in-law.

The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office believes Tery McAvoy, 74, killed his wife, 63, before himself, WFLA reported.

Police believe they died in a murder-suicide as officials described the deaths as “suspicious”.

The bodies could not be positively identified due to the “advanced stage” of decomposition.
