Shock Quinton Simon evidence requested by mum Leilani after her ‘false claims’ were exposed in the days surrounding the toddler’s death

DENTAL records have been requested from Quinton Simon’s mother, who has been accused of the toddler’s murder, after she allegedly made false claims to police.

Leilani Simon, 22, has been charged in the death of her 20-month-old son Quinton after police found the toddler’s remains at a Georgia landfill in November 2022.

The Chatham County District Attorney’s Office has since subpoenaed Leilani’s dental records from the days before Quinton’s disappearance on Oct. 5, 2022.

According to official documents, Aspen Dental in Pooler had to bring “certain documents as evidence”.

These documents must include records of Leilani’s dental treatment from October 1, 2022 to October 5, 2022.

Police searched frantically for Quinton for over a month after he disappeared from his grandmother’s home in Chatham County, Georgia.

During this time, Leilani is said to have given false information to the police.

According to court documents, on or about October 5, Leilani made a false report “implying that Quinton Simon was abducted by an unknown intruder.”

Leilani also allegedly lied when she told police that “the only controlled substance she used regularly was marijuana,” court documents show.

However, it is unclear what other drugs she allegedly used.

She was said to have “used controlled substances” on the night of October 4.

“CRUEL & EXCESSIVE PAIN”

Court documents also revealed details of the violence Leilani allegedly inflicted on Quinton.

According to court documents, Leilani hit Quinton “with an object,” resulting in “serious bodily harm.”

Leilani allegedly inflicted “cruel and excessive physical pain” on her young son, the documents say.

In the early hours of Oct. 5, Leilani reportedly covered up his death “by throwing it in a dumpster” at nearby Azalea Mobile Home Park.

Quinton’s grandmother, Billie Jo Betterton, also known as Billie Jo Howell, was also arrested in December 2022 for contempt of court.

Howell had custody of Quinton at the time of his disappearance.

Chatham County Police Commissioner Jeffrey M. Hadley recently thanked his Savannah Now community for helping bring justice to Quinton.

“The amount of resources this community mobilized in support of the Chatham County Police Department’s pursuit of justice demonstrated a level of humanity so often overlooked in today’s world,” he wrote.
