Police found a trail of blood leading to an apartment in the 2200 block of Dallas’ medical precinct after responding to a call to shoot before noon Saturday, officers said in a statement.

There was a large amount of blood outside the apartment, but no one was inside, police said.

While examining the apartment, police received a separate call from a nearby hospital, which said a man and woman were outside the building with gunshot wounds.

After initial investigation, the police determined that both the man and the woman were injured by the same bullet.

Officials believe Redmon shot the woman in the neck during a domestic riot, cops said.

The bullet then exited before hitting Redmon in the leg, the statement said.

Redmon died in the hospital.

The condition and identity of the female victim are currently unknown.

Dallas Police said they are still investigating the incident.
