Sheff Utd ‘ready for shock takeover’ as African billionaire submits £90m bid for cash-strapped club amid transfer ban’

CASH Sheffield United are reportedly facing a £90million shock takeover from an unnamed African billionaire after being placed under a transfer embargo over missed payments.
Chasing re-promotion to the Premier League, the Blades are second in the Championship after 28 games played and have a 12-point lead over third-placed Middlesbrough.

Sheffield United are unable to buy players for the next 18 months after failing to keep up with signing payment rates.
These included payments to Liverpool for striker Rhian Brewster, who was signed for £23.5million in October 2020.
A return to the big leagues could ease the Blades’ financial fears — as could a takeover.
And according to the Daily Mail, Sheffield United are the subject of a £90m takeover bid from an unnamed African billionaire.
The prospect wants to buy the club from the current Saudi owner, Prince Abdullah.
American Henry Mauriss came close to buying the club last year, only for the takeover to collapse after failing the EFL’s test.
The recent African offer is seen as much more viable.

If Sheffield United’s financial situation remains uncertain, they could be forced to sell key players.
Sander Berge has been linked with a £20m return to the Prem with Fulham.
