Sheff Utd captain Billy Sharp brutally fires at Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham after players collided in tunnel after FA Cup tie

SHEFFIELD UNITED captain Billy Sharp fired a brutal punch at Ryan Reynolds’ Wrexham after knocking them out of the FA Cup.

The duo played a thrilling fourth round replay at Bramall Lane last night, with the hosts scoring twice in injury time to win 3-1.

But tempers flared after the final whistle when Sharp collided with several Wrexham players in the tunnel.

The 37-year-old Blades forward reportedly said, “Put that in your documentary,” referring to Wrexham’s show on Disney+.

And afterwards, Sharp slammed the Wales side for “disrespect” in a fiery post-match interview.

Sharp took aim at Hollywood owners Reynolds and McElhenney, saying: “It was a great FA Cup tie, over two games they played superbly.

“I think they were disrespectful a few things before the game and thought they were already through. I’m glad we beat them.

“They do well in their league, we do well in ours. I wasn’t very happy with some of their players tonight but I’ll say we surpassed them.

“Good luck to them for the climb and hopefully we put that to bed. I wasn’t happy with some of their players. I was a bit frustrated, I probably should have put the game to bed earlier.

“I wasn’t happy with how they were as a club. Before the game, they kept tabs on Spurs when they weren’t even beating us.

“We are honest guys and we want to go as far as possible in this competition. If we get beaten in the next round, either way, we’re going to try hard.

“I think they just thought we would turn when they came back in and I think the referee helped them all night.

“I don’t think he gave me a foul all night but it’s one of those things, I probably lost my head a little bit. But I have a smile on my face because we’ve advanced to the next round of the cup.”

Wrexham fired back at Sharp’s comments afterwards, with captain Ben Tozer saying: “I feel the game has been muted a bit with the way they acted in the tunnel.

“You have shown a real lack of humility. But that’s how they want to be and I think if we had won that game we would have shown a lot more humility and respect.

“You should show us more respect. They told us to blame it on the documentary.

“I feel like him [Sharp] fabricated things in his head to make this acceptable to himself, if I’m being honest.

I told him face to face, “Show a little more humility.” We congratulated them on their win, we didn’t sulk, we walked through the tunnel as normal and it’s just a shame it ended like this.

“You had guys like Oli McBurnie saying things in the press; I don’t think any of our guys said anything disrespectful. We definitely approached the game in the right way.

“If that’s how they want to be, that’s how they want to be.”

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson added: “I’m a bit disappointed in Billy, to be honest with some of the things he ended up shouting through the tunnel.

“Well done Bill you are a fantastic player but I found him disrespectful after the game.

“I think the way the players celebrated, the crowd and the staff was just a sign of how difficult we made it for them and they were relieved to come through.

“The message to Billy is: You’re better than that, really. My players are humble people and a great honor for the football club.”
