“She has stood like a rock to me”

India’s new limited captain, Rohit Sharma, credited as his wife Ritika Sajdeh for being his “#1 support system”. He says she has stood “like a rock” for him, helping him grow as a cricketer.

Speaking to Boria Majumdar on his show ‘Backstage with Boria’, Rohit said:

“She’s my number 1 support system. There’s no doubt about that. She’s stood like a rock to me all these years. Behind me, beside me, in front of me – you what do you want to call it?”

“Without her, all the things that I’m doing would never have been possible. Because, you have certain responsibilities, you know. And I now have a little daughter. She is completely focused on making sure she has the best of everything.” And she played a big part in making sure I didn’t have to worry about what was happening to her. Rohit added:

“And obviously when I get home, it’s just about family, about being together, making the most of it.”

Rohit Sharma says that Ritika Sajdeh is invested in seeing him further develop as a player and her help is greatly appreciated.
