A HUSBAND has been accused of killing his 29-year-old wife after fatally running her over at the Utah airport and her family is paying tribute to her untimely death.

Shawn Christopher Sturgeon’s late wife, Charlotte, was described by her father on Facebook as a woman who “had so much love to give and in her short time with us had given the value of a lifetime.”

Father Joseph Dalton shared “our hearts are broken” after Charlotte was “mowed down” by her 41-year-old husband at the Utah airport, according to court documents.

Sturgeon and his wife Charlotte had argued in the Salt Lake City International Airport parking garage on April 4, the day of the incident.

The family had just returned to Utah after a vacation.

Court documents showed that Sturgeon’s blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit when the events occurred.

Video footage of the incident showed Sturgeon placing a child in the back seat of the vehicle before climbing into the driver’s seat.

Surveillance appears to show Charlotte walking to the rear passenger side of her car and opening the door before Sturgeon began backing the vehicle, Fox13 reported.

Charlotte lost her balance when Sturgeon pinned her by suddenly stopping the car.

Then he stepped on the gas pedal while reversing. Meanwhile, she was dragged along and fell under her car.

Witnesses claimed that Charlotte screamed and thrashed as Sturgeon backed over her.

Court documents allege that Sturgeon then started the car and walked over Charlotte’s body.

Officers who rushed to the scene told Fox that he “smelt strongly of alcohol and had glassy, ​​bloodshot eyes.”

Police officers claim Sturgeon told them, “I ran over my wife,” “I killed my wife,” and “I accidentally ran over her.”

After allegedly beating his wife, he drove with his wife to the airport garage ticket booth to ask for help.

Charlotte died from her injuries after being rushed to the hospital.

Police have not released a possible motive for the incident.

A judge denied his request for release from prison on April 18.

He is next scheduled to appear in court on April 25.
