She replied, “F*** no.”
After Sharon left the show, The Talk invited Natalie Morales to host the show.
Natalie quickly became a huge hit with fans, and the show achieved its highest viewership ratings since Sharon’s sudden departure in November 2021.
Sharon isn’t the only star to leave the show before ratings skyrocket.
Carrie Ann Inaba and Elaine Welteroth also call it giving up.
The Sun exclusively revealed ratings for the week of October 25-29, 2021 reaching 1,526,000 viewers.
Soap Opera Digest Note that these are the highest ratings the program has received over an eight-month period.
In March, when the ratings were high, the original host Sharon left the show after an online fight with Sheryl Underwood over her decision sided with Piers Morgan amid his criticism of Meghan Markle.
A source exclusively told The Sun that the crew of The Talk were delighted by Natalie’s addition, with the insider adding that she was hired as a “secret sauce to help improve ratings”.
The insider continued: “She’s someone in the industry that no one can badmouth about and that reputation is well-deserved.
“To say she was welcomed with open arms is an understatement. Love at first sight would be a more accurate way of saying it. ”
NATALIE COME TO THE SUPPORT OF WOMEN
Fan credited Natalie for saving the showwhile calling for Sheryl, 57, to be shot.
One person wrote on The Talk’s Facebook page: “Natalie is a seasoned professional journalist. She is interacting wonderfully with the audience and guests.
“Sheryl will be jealous that people like Natalie more and try to devise a ‘plan’ to get rid of her.”
A second is mentioned: “How did The Talk score with Natalie Morales!? What a great addition! She brings much needed credibility to the show and has such a charismatic personality. She gets along well with Akbar, Jerry and Amanda.
“Now they just need to replace Sheryl and the show can succeed!”
A third commenter wrote: “Great show today, Natalie and Akbar are excellent additions to the show. I love Amanda, she is genuine and a beauty inside and out. Jerry is the humor needed to make the show lighter.
“But I still don’t understand Sheryl’s part on this show, she’s completely lost, and she knows it. I think it’s time for her to focus on her role as a comedian and not as a talk show host.”
During the show, Sharon stated, “Sheryl had three complaints about her from different producers about the way she was treating them.
“They called me and I said, ‘You can’t get rid of Sheryl. There’s no way. She can’t take that. You just can’t do it.”
“So they sent her to anger management. So it’s fine to treat the producer that way, but I can’t say anything to the co-host.”
The show currently stars Natalie, Sheryl, Akbar Gbaja-Biamila, Amanda Kloots, and Jerry O’Connell.
