‘Sexplage’ DJ Tim Westwood has been ‘hosted and hosted by BBC bosses many times’

DJ Tim Westwood, who is accused of being a sexual predator, was allegedly often hosted and hosted by BBC bosses.
One invited the hip-hop DJ “to the lap” of his family, the other went to the clubs with him.

Westwood was the sole DJ at ex-Radio 1 controller Matthew Bannister’s birthday in 1997.
He often visited his home and Mr Bannister, 65, also took him for drinks with former BBC chief executive John Birt.
Speaking in 1998 — at a time when Westwood had allegedly slept with a 14-year-old girl — he said, “My kids adore him.”
He added: “He gets along well with my wife.
“He’s someone I get along with incredibly easily.”
Westwood, 64, also became friends with Mr Bannister’s successor, Andy Parfitt, and the two hit the clubs together.
Westwood, a BBC staffer from 1994 to 2013, denies allegations of sexual misconduct by 17 women over the age of 30.
