Chambers said in a tweet: “I hope this ad works to not only denounce the use of cannabis but also create a new conversation that creates a path to legalization of this beneficial drug and forgiveness of who have been arrested due to outdated ideology”.

“Every 37 seconds, a person is arrested for possession of marijuana,” Chambers said in the video.

“Since 2010, state and local police have arrested an estimated 7.3 million Americans for marijuana law violations – more than half of all drug seizures.

“Blacks are four times more likely to be arrested than whites,” the Senate hopes added.

“Countries waste $3.7 billion enforcing cannabis laws each year. Most of the people the police are arresting are not traffickers but people in small numbers, like me. “

Chambers is looking for a way out Republican Party member Senator John Kennedy, elected in 2016.
