‘See you Frenkie’ – Man Utd fans joke De Jong has sealed transfer after liking Tyrell Malacia’s Instagram post

MANCHESTER UNITED fans have joked that Frenkie de Jong has confirmed on social media that he is going to Old Trafford.

The latest reports suggest the Red Devils have agreed an initial fee of £56.2m for the midfielder with Barcelona.

And while nothing is official, some United fans are convinced the midfielder will join this summer.

Eagle-eyed followers noted that De Jong liked Tyrell Malacia’s Instagram post confirming he had signed for United.

The left-back is the first signing of the Ten Hag era and cost £13m to begin with, with a further £1.75m available as add-ons.

Taking to Instagram after his move was approved, Malacia wrote: “An incredible feeling to sign for @ManchesterUnited. Let’s enjoy this moment before it’s time to focus on the future.”

Thousands of fans including De Jong liked the 22-year-old’s post after his move was officially announced.

The move has led some supporters to believe De Jong might not be far behind Malacia.

A Man Utd fan account wrote on social media: “See you @DeJongFrenkie21.”

Another said: “He’s joining.”

However, others were quick to point out that de Jong could have liked the post because he is an international teammate with Malacia.

One pointed out: “I mean I hope so but he’s his international teammate tbf.”

A second realist said: “I mean, they’re international teammates. Of course he’ll like it.”

United boss Ten Hag is reportedly planning to seal five signings before the start of the season.

Malacia is one of them, there is also a verbal agreement with Christian Eriksen.

And fans are hoping De Jong is finally on his way.
