Most people know what it’s like to receive annoying spam calls on a regular basis.
What most people probably don’t know, is that there might be a way to end those unwanted calls that seem to never end, and one TikToker shared the trick.
User @kenny_cowtail posted a clip showing her typing “#662#” into her phone and turning on the “Phishing Blocker” feature.
The video, which has been viewed more than 1.4 million times, is captioned: “And just like that, spam calls have been blocked. Nothing.”
Unfortunately, many people under the comments of the viral video have reported that this trick does not work with every carrier.
“PSA: this is for T-Mobile/MetroPCS users only,” one comment asserted.
“I have Verizon and it worked,” another added, while a third claimed the trick didn’t work for her even though she also has Verizon.
According to T-mobile’s website, the Scam Block feature still exists.
“In the United States, we receive billions of scams and robocalls every year,” website. “But Scam ID and Scam Block technologies identify and help block them — before you even get a call. Specific callers can also be blocked.”
You can also sign in to My T-Mobile or the T-Mobile app, where you’ll see an option to enable Phishing Blocking.
Verizon also offer a few options to block spam calls, including call barring registration, caller ID, anonymous call rejection, and caller ID/call waiting.
