Season 3 premiere date of ‘Atlanta’ on FX – March 2022

FX will be back Atlanta (by way of Europe!) on Thursday, March 24, 2022, it was announced long ago.
Premiering Season 3 nearly four years after the second episode ended, the Emmy-winning comedy will return for two episodes that night, starting at 10/9c. And for the first time, each of the season’s 10 episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hulu.
Atlanta at one point was bracing for a January 2021 return, but the pandemic has suppressed that. On the bright side? Series creator and star Donald Glover was able to use downtime to kick things off.
“One of the fun surprises from COVID-19 is that the screenwriters had a lot of time to write, so Donald Glover and his brave team… wrote everything for Season 3. and 4,” said FX Networks President John Landgraf September 2020. “Availability, however [of actors] was pushed back because [pandemic]. ”
The season 2 finale of the series, which aired in May 2018, saw Glover Earn’s music director and rap star cousin Al (played by Brian Tyree Henry) fly to Europe. Europe to go on tour with Clark County. As such, Season 3 will take place almost entirely in Europe, with Earn, Paper Boi, Darius (LaKeith Stanfield) and Van (Zazie Beetz) on a successful tour, and the group navigating their surroundings new surroundings as outsiders while also having difficulty adjusting to the new success they desire.

Atlantaordered Wednesday season – originally, but no longer, written in Fall 2021 – will run eight episodes, at some point TBA.
