Carrie added: “I think I’m more than an ATM to her.”

Initially, the screenwriters thought of sending Samantha to Los Angeles, but they did so in the first Sex and the City, which showed her living in a large beachfront mansion.

And the show’s creators hope that by touching on Kim and Sarah’s real life on the show, they can convince the actress to return to reprise her iconic character one more time. again.

“Viewers will know that she’s thriving in the UK even though she’s failed Carrie,” the insider explained.

“Carrie is the one who struggles without Samantha and by the end of And Just Like That you’ll see Carrie reaching for an olive branch and trying to rekindle the friendship.”

The show’s creators are said to be hoping Kim will return for a second season, because she “missed on set” and they wanted Samantha to do a “win-win” in New York.

Evidence of the rift first appeared in 2004, when Kim appeared on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and alleged that the series originally ended due to a salary dispute.

walkie talkie it was later reported that tensions had flared as Sarah’s wages rose to £803,000 per episode when she became executive producer of the show.

The publication asserted that the women leading Kim’s colleagues “wouldn’t even sit with her during mealtime”.

This was only reinforced at the 2004 Emmys, where Kristin Davis, Cynthia and Sarah all sat together, but Kim sat alone.

Page six reported how, during a location shoot: “Sarah Jessica rented a house for herself, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Kim was left alone.”

But Sarah, interviewed in the same report, seems to feel differently, admitting that she misses Kim, who is said to have delayed filming Sex and the City consecutively because of salary.

Kim countered this, saying she just needed to spend time with her family because she was struggling with a “painful” divorce and her father was diagnosed with dementia.

In 2017, Daily mail reported that the third Sex and the City movie was scrapped at Kim’s request.

The publication said Kim had asked Warner Bros. to produce other films in which she acted first – otherwise she would not reprise the role of Samantha.

Kristin, who plays Charlotte, appeared to confirm this, tweeting: “It’s true that we won’t be able to do a 3rd movie. I wish we could make the final chapter, on our own terms. me, to complete the story of our characters.

But Kim told Piers Morgan on Life Stories that she turned down the offer for the film in 2016 and only because she wanted to move away from Samantha in the past.

During the interview, Kim went on to insist she was “never friends” with her co-stars and that Sarah “could be better”.

She said she didn’t know when the last time she spoke with her co-stars and insisted no one was contacted when reports started circulating about her taking the helm.

And talk to Observer magazine, she went a step further, claiming she felt attacked and “bullied” when she refused to make a third film.

But the feud will turn brutal following the death of Kim’s 55-year-old brother, Chris, who took his own life in 2018.

Sarah wrote on Kim’s Instagram page: “Dearest Kim, my love and condolences to you and yours and Congratulations to your beloved brother. Xx.”

But angry Kim accused Sarah of “exploiting” her brother’s death for personal gain.

She wrote: “My mom asked me today ‘When will @sarahjessicaparker, that hypocrite, leave you alone?’ Your constant outreach is a painful reminder of how ruthless you really were then and now.

“Let me make this VERY clear. (If I haven’t already) You’re not my family. You’re not my friend. So I’m writing to tell you one last time that please stop exploiting our tragedy to restore the ‘nice girl’ persona.”

When it emerged that Kim was not participating in the Sex and the City reboot, Sarah responded to a fan who asked if they were still at war.

“I don’t hate her. I never said it. Never will,” she wrote on Instagram.

“Samantha is not part of this story. But she will always be a part of us. No matter where we are or what we do.”
