With 7.5 inches of snow at the National Weather Service, this makes it the second-highest total for the season.
The most recent 24-hour heavy snowfall we had was January 16th and 17th totaling 9.2″. We even beat the monthly average for March in just two days, which was 7.6 inches today and snowfall on Wednesday.
It’s been very windy today with gusts at 35 mph and close to 50 mph on the slopes, which should make you feel like showing in the single digits today and even below zero tomorrow morning.

There was a few intensification of sleet at the lake bringing an extra inch to sites this afternoon and evening. This will cause whiteness and blowing and drifting snow.
The snow won’t start to melt until we reach temperatures near 40° on Sunday afternoon. There’s a small chance that parts of the north could get some sleet with the quick shear system also active on Sunday afternoon north, however, minimal build-up is possible.
Second, we move into the mid-50s and stay there until midweek in dry conditions.
Things are getting better every day this week and we’re going into the 60s for St. Patrick’s Day with mostly sunny skies! We’re also flirting with the end of the work week 70s.
