Saskatoon police use duty on man who allegedly attacked officers with butcher knife – Saskatoon

Saskatoon Police the officers used a Energy weapons conduct (CEW), also known as electric gun about a 58-year-old man on Saturday.

A press release said officers were called for help with a medical call at an apartment building in the 300 block of North 6th Avenue at around 11:40 a.m.

Police say the man was upset when the police and EMS were there and assumed he picked up a butcher’s knife and lunged at the officers and EMS.

When CEW was deployed, the man dropped the knife and was arrested.

Has anyone been injured reported.

The man is facing charges of assaulting a police officer with a weapon.

This incident will be reviewed in accordance with Saskatoon Police Service policy.
