The account, which claims to be the suspected shooter, who has since been removed, tagged a random user in a photo with guns before the attack in Uvalde, Texas.

“You will repost my gun pics,” the shooter wrote.

The person he tagged, who claims not to know the shooter and doesn’t live in Texas, asked, “What do your guns have to do with me?”

The shooter texts back, “Just wanted to tag you.”

Throughout the conversation, which the Instagram user provides through screenshots, the shooter keeps contacting the user with vague messages.

“Be right there,” he writes without any explanation, only replies “I’ll tell you before 11am” when the user asks what his original message means.

“I’ll text you in an hour.

“But you have to react. i have a little secret I want to tell you”

In a statement posted to the user’s story and highlighted on their account, the user wrote, “The only reason I replied to him was because I was afraid of him.

“I wish I’d stayed awake to at least try to convince him not to commit his crime of which I was unaware.

“I don’t know him and I don’t even live in Texas.”

Since news of the shooting broke, multiple fake accounts featuring the alleged shooter’s photo have been created on Instagram.

Because of this, the tagged user provided another statement on his story, writing: “All the people impersonating him are sick. You are disgusting.”

The Sun has reached out to the Instagram user for comment, but it’s believed they’ve turned messages off as of this writing.
