And 28-year-old Vuniyayawa is thought to have settled on the other side of the Pennines, having first arrived in Leeds, England.

Boss Paul Rowley has made keeping the top rudder in order to keep his squad together high on his list of priorities.

Now the club bosses are believed to be ready to make their attempt to fend off interested rivals.

But SunSport are aware it’s likely to be a third stroke of luck as the 28-year-old finally faces a move to his hometown club.

It is believed that Fages was alone in England while his new wife, Charlene, is across the Channel with a family illness.

And that will likely result in him turning down an extension with the Giants and reporting from two other clubs to return to where it all began for him: Pia.
