SADIO MANE has reminded Liverpool what they might be missing given interest from Bayern Munich after becoming Senegal’s all-time top scorer.
The 30-year-old scored a hat-trick to help the Lions of Teranga beat Benin 3-1 in their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Mane scored his 30th, 31st and 32nd international goals in his 90th appearance, overtaking Henri Camara in Senegal’s top scorer chart.
The ex-Southampton striker fired a penalty in the 12th minute before adding a second from close range shortly after.
He then completed his hat-trick on the hour after pocketing his second penalty of the night.
Junior Olaitan scored a late goal for the visitors but it wasn’t enough as Senegal won their opening game in Group L.
With a year remaining on his Anfield contract, Mane was heavily linked with a move from Merseyside.
Bayern Munich have reportedly agreed a three-year deal with the winger, with the Bavarian club only remaining to negotiate a transfer fee with the Reds.
Ahead of Senegal’s clash with Benin, Mane teased at the pre-match press conference that he was leaving Liverpool.
He said: “I respect the fans and the team, but 60-70 per cent of Senegalese want me to leave Liverpool?

“I’ll do what you want. Don’t worry, it’s not far.
“Don’t be in a hurry, you’ll see soon, there’s no problem.”
Ahead of the Champions League final, coach Jurgen Klopp conceded the African may be playing his last game for the club.
He remarked: “Wherever Sadio plays next season, he will definitely be a great player.
“Sadio is certainly in the form of his life. Brilliant form, a pleasure to watch.
“We’re asking a lot of him this season, football is asking a lot of him – a lot of finals. At the moment I don’t care at all.”
