Sadio Mane ‘achieves breakthrough in Bayern Munich transfer talks with Liverpool star for a bargain’

SADIO MANE has reportedly ‘made a breakthrough’ in talks with Bayern Munich over a stunning Liverpool transfer.

The 30-year-old Senegal star is currently preparing for Saturday’s Champions League final against Real Madrid.

That comes just days after the Reds missed out on the Premier League title against Manchester City.

But ahead of the upcoming showpiece, speculation is mounting that Mane could leave Anfield for the Bundesliga.

And now Florian Plettenberg from Sky Sports claims progress has been made in negotiations between the striker and Bayern Munich over a potential deal.

Both Germany boss Hasan Salihamidzic and coach Julian Nagelsmann are preparing to lose Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona and want a ‘declaration’ signing to replace the Polish striker.

Both are keen to land Mane – whose contract expires at Liverpool next summer.

Plettenberg claims the next month will now be a crucial time for Bayern and their bid to land the former Southampton player.

He tweeted: “He can really see himself moving to #FCBayern this summer! There is movement in the talks with the player and his management.

“The next 3-4 weeks are crucial. Nagelsmann & Brazzo want him. Transfer probably less than 50 million euros.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will be desperate to hold on to Mane, who has scored 120 goals in 268 games for the Reds, and tie him to extra time.

Especially as fellow striker Mo Salah is still yet to agree a new deal amid uncertainty over the Egyptian ace’s future.
